Waxing leaves skin beautifully smooth, but the 24–48 hours afterwards matter just as much as the appointment itself. The right aftercare prevents irritation, ingrown hairs and breakouts — and keeps you smoother for longer.
Here's the routine our waxing therapists in Warsaw recommend to every client.
The first 24 hours
Your pores are open and skin is sensitive straight after waxing. Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming, intense exercise and sunbathing for 24 hours, as heat and sweat can irritate freshly waxed skin.
Wear loose, breathable clothing to reduce friction, especially after bikini or leg waxing.
Keep it clean and calm
Avoid touching the area with unwashed hands, and skip heavily perfumed products, which can sting and irritate. A simple, soothing aloe gel helps calm any redness.
Exfoliate — but not yet
Wait two to three days, then start gently exfoliating two or three times a week. This is the single best way to prevent ingrown hairs by stopping dead skin from trapping new growth.
Moisturise daily
Keeping skin hydrated keeps it supple, which helps hair grow back through the surface cleanly rather than curling under it.
Between appointments
Don't shave between waxes — it disrupts the growth cycle and brings back coarse regrowth. Rebooking every three to four weeks keeps results consistent and waxing more comfortable over time.
